Goed om zo nu en dan wat te blijven horen van kleine, stoere denimlabeltjes die nog voor 100% uit liefde voor de jeans opereren. Ze bestaan dus echt. Vorig jaar vertelden we ja al één en ander over Benzak Denim Developers, en eerlijk gezegd waren wij het project sindsdien ook een beetje uit het oog verloren. Totdat we afgelopen week onderstaand bericht in onze mailbox kregen. Nu zijn we bij fashionminded.nl niet zo van het klakkeloos kopieren van persberichten, en mogen we graag onze eigen (ongezouten) mening ventileren, maar in sommige gevallen moet je de passie en liefde voor het vak gewoon laten vertellen door de maker zelf. 2 years ago I started working on Benzak Denim Developers, or short BDD, a one-man-business and underground denim project, for the true connoisseur of jeans and denim. The word project is used for BDD, because there are no seasonal collections; I only create what I like and would wear myself. Therefore every product designed and developed by BDD is considered a project on its own and will always rightfully carry this trademarks: EXCLUSIVELY DEVELOPED & UNIQUE DENIM DESIGN GUARANTEED.
BDD only works with small factories and ateliers to guarantee and maintain the high quality of the product. Also, BDD uses denim fabrics made on an original narrow shuttle looms (which create the selvage on each end of the fabric), to guarantee authenticity and the vintage feel & look.
Being a lover of unwashed, untreated denim, products in their raw state are always part of the projects. Dry denim garments will form according the shape of the wearer?s body. By not washing it for as long as possible, the fading and creasing will create a unique effect, reflecting the lifestyle of its wearer.
For the project I designed, developed and produced a pair of jeans: BDD-001 Limited Dry. This pair was limited to only 36 pairs. But in the mean time, BDD has grown.
The website, www.benzakdenimdevelopers.com, recently got a complete makeover, including wash & care info, a measuring guide & an integrated webshop where all BDD products can be purchased.
But most important are the new BDD products, including:
- pre-washed versions of the BDD-001: Medium Stone & Super Stone, in 14.5 oz selvage denim;
- a new version of the BDD-001 Limited Dry (2nd edition ? limited to 20 pairs), in 14.5 oz selvage denim;
- ?Iphone? denim cover with exposed BDD signature green selvage.
And of course BDD is constantly developing ideas into new products, so there?s much more to come!
